Summary
The board approved Resolution No. 25-36 to open the district court FY25 budget and add $10,100 for building repair and maintenance to complete a security enhancement project, using part of $44,681 in unanticipated state revenue.
The Bonner County Board of Commissioners on June 10 approved Resolution No. 25-36 to amend the district court fiscal year 2025 budget and add $10,100 to a building repair and maintenance line to finish an ongoing security enhancement project.
Staff told the board the county received $44,681 in unanticipated state revenue for the district court fund. The court requested using a portion of that unanticipated revenue to finish a security project started in FY25 and expected to complete in FY26; staff said budgeting $10,100 now would allow the county to use that portion in FY25 instead of budgeting the full amount next year.
During public comment, resident Robert Frank asked what would happen to the remainder of the state funds not used now. Clerk Jessica explained that unbudgeted receipts remain in the county bank account but cannot be spent until appropriated; the board can add further amounts into the budget in future actions.
