The City Council voted, by roll call, to proclaim June 2025 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month and directed that the rainbow flag be flown on the city's ceremonial flagpole across from City Hall for the month.
The proclamation text affirmed that LGBTQ+ people are an important part of the community and that the city opposes discrimination. Councilmembers read several "whereas" clauses and the motion to accept the proclamation was made and seconded; a roll-call vote recorded Aye votes from Councilmember Eisenberg, Councilmember Cooper, Councilmember Gift, Vice Mayor Lopez Ortega and Mayor Williams.
The council also invited residents to "reflect on ways we can all live and work together with a commitment to mutual respect and understanding," and the mayor and council affixed the city seal to the proclamation.
