Dina Babsky, director of economic and urban development for the city of Las Vegas, told agency members the agreements advance long-running efforts to assemble land along the northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart Avenue — an area locally known as the Stitch Factory — and to eliminate environmental deficiencies and blight. “For your consideration today, we’re presenting two purchase and sale agreements for parcels that are located on the south, on the northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart,” Babsky said.
The agency considered two related agenda items together. The first, listed on the agenda as RA-11-2025, covered 0.61 acres at 300 North Las Vegas Boulevard, described in the agenda text as between 300 Las Vegas Boulevard LLC and the City of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency. The agenda listed a funding figure (4010000) tied to a special revenue fund for Redevelopment Area No. 1. The second, listed as RA-12-2025, covered 0.32 acres at 401 North Seventh Street; the agenda listed 1090000 for a special revenue fund for Redevelopment Area No. 1. The agenda also noted that each item is related to corresponding city council items (R-34-2025 and R-35-2025).
There was no substantive debate. Councilwoman Summers Armstrong moved approval of each item; she told members, “We’re very excited about this,” and cast the motion to approve. The clerk posted the motions and the chair announced the motion carried for RA-11-2025 and that the motion passed for RA-12-2025. No roll-call vote totals or recorded individual votes were stated on the transcript.
Agency staff and members did not provide further project details, such as proposed developers, purchase prices beyond the agenda figures above, closing dates, or planned uses for the parcels during the public portion of the meeting. Babsky said the city has held land holdings in the area and has been working for many years to assemble parcels to support redevelopment.
The Redevelopment Agency adjourned after public comment was called; there were no public speakers on these items during the meeting.
