Harlingen City Commission approves annexation, two rezonings, budget amendment and multiple contracts; special‑use permit tabled

The Harlingen City Commission on the evening’s agenda approved multiple land‑use ordinances and administrative actions and authorized contracts and easements. The commission took first‑reading action on an annexation and two rezoning requests, approved a budget amendment on first reading, authorized a construction contract for animal‑shelter kennel extensions and approved plats, easements and consultant selections. One special‑use permit item was tabled because the ordinance language was not available at the meeting.
