Marilyn Jackson, who identified herself as the owner of the property in the 13400 block of Park Avenue, told the Cerritos Property Preservation Commission on May 20, 2025 that a large tree in the parkway has damaged a water line and that she has not received satisfactory follow up from city staff on previous phone requests to remove or trim the tree.
Jackson said she replaced a water line in October 2023 for about $4,400 because tree roots had ruptured the line. She told the commission she does not live at the address full time and that her son has been handling some maintenance tasks. Jackson said she received mailed notice(s) and was aware of staff communications but asked the commission for consideration given the tree and root issues.
