Midway City Council approved its consent calendar, confirming appointments to advisory committees and approving routine items on the agenda.
The council accepted the consent calendar, which included appointing Spencer Lacour, Jennifer Manga Way and James Hendricks as full members of the Midway City Visual and Architectural Committee; Rachel Harvey as a full member of the Parks, Trails and Trees Committee; Lisa Bridal as an alternate for the Parks, Trails and Trees Committee; and Sue Ellen Gregory Weidecker as an alternate member of the Planning Commission. The consent items also listed Resolution 2025-12, clarifying the spelling of “Alpenhoff” for an existing street name, a zoning-violation fine for Randy Lundin marked as already paid, and a temporary use permit for High Valley Arts to exceed allowed sound levels for a musical production at 20 South 400 East.
Mayor Greg moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and carried with councilmembers voting in favor by voice. Council members present confirmed they were comfortable moving the items forward; one councilmember asked that future applications be shared with the full council for review before appointments are finalized.
Council discussion included a request that staff share all committee applications with the council going forward so members can review applicants before the appointments are finalized. A councilmember noted that only one committee had multiple applicants (planning commission, where Jim Kohler submitted an application) and asked for clearer communication to council members when multiple applicants exist.
No debate was recorded about the Alpenhoff spelling resolution beyond its placement on the consent calendar, and the zoning fine item was described by staff as a formality because the fine had already been paid.
