The Mount Shasta Planning Commission did not have a quorum for its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and held no formal business, a planning commission staff member said.
A planning commission staff member told those present, "We do not have a quorum this evening, so [we] apologize to those of you who arrived to speak to us." The staff member also said the commission is "looking for another spot," but added, "I don't know if this is the audience."
Because the commission lacked a quorum, no motions, votes, or agenda decisions were taken. The staff member said the group looks forward to meeting at its regularly scheduled meeting in June; no specific June date was announced in the meeting record.
Members of the public who attended for items on the May 20 agenda were asked to return in June or to contact planning staff for next steps. No ordinances, resolutions, permits, contracts, or other formal actions were discussed or adopted during the session.
The cancellation was announced at the start of the meeting; the record shows one staff speaker and roughly four minutes of recorded remarks before the meeting concluded.
