Resident warns commissioners Jenny Barker Road hazards could cause serious injury; commissioners refer matter to road and bridge

Steve Sterling, a Finney County resident, told the Board of County Commissioners during public comment that Jenny Barker Road is hazardous and in urgent need of repair or paving.
Sterling said he has driven county dirt roads his entire life and described this stretch as unusually dangerous, with ruts and holes that, in his view, could cause vehicles to roll at speeds motorists commonly use. He said graders temporarily improve the road but it returns to the same condition within days, and he urged the county to take stronger action because people and semis use the route and children live nearby.
The commission thanked Sterling for his comments and referred the matter to the interim county administrator and the county Road and Bridge Department for review and a response.
