The School Town of Speedway board approved the October personnel report, which included three resignations, two disability leave requests and multiple recommended hires.
The report presented by John Disney listed resignations for Tia Allen (cafeteria worker, junior high), Jeff Mahan (boys head golf coach, Speedway Junior High) and Kenneth King (assistant swim coach, Speedway Junior High). Two disability leave requests were listed: Rachel Abel (beginning Jan. 6, approximately through March 20) and Anastasia Haberman (cafeteria manager, approximately Oct. 29 through Dec. 10). The report also listed multiple recommended hires across cafeteria, coaching, extracurricular and custodial roles.
A board member said, "I'll recuse myself from this vote," before the roll call. The motion to approve the personnel report passed with three votes in favor and one recusal (recorded as an abstention), the board secretary announced.
The personnel items were approved as presented; the board did not alter individual personnel recommendations during the meeting.
