The Tigard‑Tualatin School District superintendent reviewed state OSAS test results and described a new district data release calendar at the Oct. 6 board meeting, saying statewide scores rose in math, English and science for the first time since the pandemic but proficiency remains below pre‑pandemic levels.
Superintendent staff told the board that TTSD consistently outperformed state averages across the three tested subjects and noted improvement among Hispanic and Latino students in language arts. Staff also said the achievement gap widened for some historically underserved groups and that math proficiency remains an area of concern.
To respond, the district presented a plan to publish a calendar for different types of data (OSAS, formative assessments such as i‑Ready, engagement surveys and graduation indicators) to allow leadership and schools to make timely instructional adjustments. The district said principals and school teams would use the data to inform School Improvement Plans (SIPs) and instructional supports.
Board members praised the emphasis on data transparency and asked that the district continue training leaders and staff to use data for decision making. The board also reaffirmed focus on math and supports for multilingual learners as priorities for the year.
