Tigard‑Tualatin board names nine members to 2025 bond oversight committee

Appointees named in the board motion were Kristen Miles; Richard Steinberg; Marielena (spelling in packet varies) Gulichi Carey; Chris Bottoms; Amelia Moore; Damon Henry; Michael Leaper; Cole Whitehurst; and Katie Button. District staff said the interview committee recommended the slate after evaluating candidates’ experience in construction, finance and community service.
Why it matters: The bond oversight committee reviews bond program progress and spending to ensure alignment with voter intent and to provide a public check on project delivery. Board members who served on the interview committee told the board they were impressed by the mix of construction experience and community representation among the nominees.
