Commission keeps October meeting in West Tennessee; votes 7–1 to maintain schedule

After discussing the administrative effects of recent statutory changes (the 'Less Is More' administrative adjustments) and staff capacity to host meetings in other grand divisions, the commission voted to maintain the posted October meeting in West Tennessee. Commissioners discussed technology challenges when meeting off-site and the importance of maintaining a presence in East and West Tennessee over time; an approach of alternating regional meetings every other year was floated for future planning.

The motion to keep the October 2025 meeting in West Tennessee as currently scheduled passed with a 7–1 tally. Commissioner Torvitt recorded the single opposed vote. The chair noted staff will present location and logistics details during the executive director’s report and will coordinate travel/technology planning to minimize disruption for formal hearings and the public.
