The Clark County Council returned from a closed executive session on pending litigation and unanimously approved a settlement in Monahan v. Clark County, cause number 24-CV-05392, authorizing the county manager to sign the necessary documents. The council also approved the minutes of its May 21, 2025 meeting by voice vote.
The council convened an executive session citing RCW 42.30.110(1) to discuss pending litigation for a total of about 20 minutes, then reconvened in open session. A motion to approve the settlement was made on the record and, after a voice vote, the settlement was passed unanimously. The meeting record shows the council directed the county manager to execute settlement documents as authorized by the motion.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the minutes from May 21, 2025. That motion was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote of "aye." No roll-call vote counts by name were recorded in the public portion of the transcript; the council recorded the settlement vote as passed unanimously. The meeting then adjourned.
