The Harbor Commission voted to grant a city-sponsored conditional use permit (CUP) and exemption declaration to formalize commercial recreational operations associated with a 1,491-square-foot first-floor office at 181 North Harbor Drive and up to 15 commercial slips and dock areas within Basin 3.
Steven Jiang, a planner in the Community Development Department, told commissioners the building was constructed in 1986, currently houses a second-floor restaurant (not part of this proposal) and the first-floor office has historically served as the business address for marina-related operators. “The project is comprised of a 1,491 square foot office space . . . and includes 15 boat slips/slip dock areas within Basin 3,” Jiang said.
