Commissioners at the City of Victorville Planning Commission meeting on June 11 asked planning staff to compile the required monthly reports from the Armagosa homeless shelter and return to the commission in roughly six months with an operational update.
Commissioner Marsh asked that the commission receive periodic updates on the shelter’s required reporting. Planning staff replied that as part of the shelter’s conditions of approval it must submit monthly reports and that the shelter is currently ramping up operations. “Currently, they're just operating the drop in center portion of their proposal, and we are working on obtaining that month's report,” planning staff said, adding that a six-month review window should provide a sufficient bank of reports for assessment.
The commission expressed consensus for staff to return with a summary and any recommendations after approximately six months. No formal action or vote was taken; the exchange was recorded as a direction to staff to monitor compliance and report back.
