Board approves SRP easement at Brogan Center to support electric bus project

The Tempe School District Governing Board approved a power-distribution easement with Salt River Project (SRP) for the Brogan Center to support the district's electric-bus charging infrastructure.
Assistant staff member (presenter) described the item as part of the district's electric-bus project, saying the chargers and planned on-site solar will at times require more power than solar alone can provide. "It is gonna greatly increase the capacity or the demand for the power," the presenter said. He said SRP will perform additional work in an easement area on the southwest corner of the Brogan lot.
Board members discussed timing; staff said charger installation is already in process and the district expects the system to be operational early in the next school year. The board approved the easement on a voice vote.
