Carbon County jail inspectors accept wardens report, approve personnel and minutes after inspection finds only minor issues

Inspectors of the Carbon County Jail met to review maintenance, program and personnel reports and to act on routine business. The board approved the minutes from the prior meeting, accepted the warden's report for April and approved a personnel report after hearing routine operational updates and inspection findings.
The meeting included reports on preventive maintenance and repairs to kitchen equipment, fire suppression, door panels and HVAC filters. Inspectors also discussed recent outside inspections of the jail; the inspectors said the most recent review returned a mostly positive outcome with a few minor items and inventory-control suggestions to correct in the kitchen.
A work-release summary presented by staff reported nine inmates enrolled in the program, six currently working, and net income for the month of $2,735.71. The report included a line-item breakdown (noted in the meeting) for court costs, payments and escrow contributions.
The warden provided the monthly custody report for April: 63 new admissions (46 males, 17 females), 60 releases (47 males, 13 females) and an average daily population of 58 for the month. The warden also reported 13 transports during the period, including five to hospitals and several specialist appointments; the jail logged eight hospital duty days. At the close of April the jail's on-site population was reported in the meeting as 48 total.
Inspectors thanked maintenance staff for work at the county training facility and discussed an upcoming visit by representatives from Montgomery County, who planned to tour the training facility the following morning. Members said the storage area and training building required tidying before that visit.
Formal actions recorded during the meeting included approval of the prior meeting's minutes, acceptance of the warden's report and approval of the personnel report. The board also recessed into an executive session at the end of the meeting to discuss a personnel matter.
