The Amherst Central School District Board of Education approved consent personnel and planning items and then convened an executive session to discuss employment matters.
A motion to approve new business item D1 (consent of new business personnel and planning items) was made and the board voted, “All those in favor…Aye,” with the chair announcing, “Motion carries 5 0.” Following the vote, the board invited the newly hired staff to stand and introduce themselves. Those who identified themselves included Ron White, middle school counselor; Mackenzie Shanian, school social worker at Liberty; Jessica Salaker, kindergarten teacher at Windermere; and Sarah Minoff, physical therapist who will float among district schools.
Later the board made a motion to convene to executive session “to discuss employment of the Internet customer” (verbatim from the meeting record). The board again voted and the chair announced, “Motion carries 5 0,” before adjourning the public portion of the meeting and moving into executive session.
Vote tallies were announced by the chair; the meeting record did not name individual aye votes beyond the chair’s roll call announcement. No further public action or outcomes from the executive session were disclosed during the public meeting.
