Superintendent highlights series of end-of-year events for Township of Ocean schools

Mrs. Weldon said seniors are taking part in a series of events culminating in graduation on June 19 and asked board members who plan to attend to RSVP by June 11 (and noted board member RSVP for attending graduation occurs by June 13). "We have a week of senior events happening this week," Weldon said, and described a new tradition in which high school seniors will meet kindergarten students on the field as a "Spartan legacy" activity designed to reinforce school spirit.
Specific dates she listed include:
- June 4: MASA fourth-grade celebration and TOIS fifth- and sixth-grade chorus concert/fifth-grade band concert - June 5: High school senior prom - June 9: Senior sports banquet - June 10: OTHS course concert - June 11: Preschool moving-up ceremonies and NHS ceremony; TOIS dance project - June 12'13: Various preschool and elementary celebrations and early-dismissal schedules - June 16'19: Early dismissal at all district schools; Spartan Day at TOIS on June 16
Mrs. Weldon thanked teachers, parents, administrators and students for organizing the activities and said she looked forward to reporting additional events at the board's next meeting on June 17. "I can't be more proud to see all of these Spartan events on display at all of our schools," she said.
The superintendent reminded the public that event details are posted on the district calendar available on the district website.
