Angola Common Council on Monday approved revenue-bond ordinances for the city’s water and sewer systems, voted to vacate Thunder Drive after public comment and a roll-call split, set the residential curbside waste rate and approved a large batch of accounts-payable vouchers.
Council members gave third reading approval to an ordinance authorizing the issuance of waterworks revenue bonds intended to fund additions, extensions and improvements to the municipal waterworks. The council likewise approved an ordinance authorizing sewage works revenue bonds for improvements to the city’s sewage system. Both measures passed on voice votes.
The council voted on third reading to vacate Thunder Drive following a public hearing and a citizen comment from a nearby resident. The roll call on the street vacation recorded Council member Coffey voting No and Council members Olson, Dowell and McDermott voting Yes.
The council adopted an amendment to the city zoning map (item identified in the transcript as Owners number 17792025) on second reading after the planning commission’s recommendation was reviewed and a motion to adopt was made and seconded; that motion was approved on a voice vote.
On municipal services, the council discussed Republic Service’s (vendor name in the record: Republic Service) upcoming contract increase.
