The board voted to approve an updated voluntary contract with Clinton‑Sampson Rescue and Emergency Services, Inc. County attorneys and staff clarified the revised contract covers rescue resources only (not the provision of medical services) and that the agreement is voluntary and at no cost to the county.
County attorney review and remarks The county attorney said the contract language was updated following negotiations with the organization’s representative (named in the meeting as Mr. Bradshaw in discussions) to remove references to medical services and to focus the agreement on rescue resources and mutual cooperation. The attorney said the arrangement will supplement county emergency response and clarified the nonprofit’s chosen recognition and relationship with the county.
Board action Commissioners approved the contract and authorized moving forward with the voluntary partnership. Staff said the contract is intended as a supplemental resource in emergencies and does not create county financial obligations.
