Committee removes solar crosswalk and Blair School speed-zone signs; minutes approved

The Building & Grounds Committee voted to remove two solar-powered crosswalk signs from Delafield Street and to remove school zone speed-limit signs around Blair School; minutes from the prior meeting were also approved.
The Waukesha City Building & Grounds Committee on June 2 approved removal of two solar-powered crosswalk signs on Delafield Street and removal of school-zone speed-limit signs around Blair School.
Greg, staff, reported the crosswalk signs were installed temporarily when city hall was under construction, are no longer needed and currently are not working. “They’re currently not working either,” Greg said; staff recommended removing them and placing them in inventory for future use. Rick Lemke moved to remove the signs and return them to stock; Dale seconded, and the motion passed.
On the Blair School signage, committee members noted the building is now a district headquarters and not an elementary school. A motion to remove the school-zone speed-limit signs was moved and seconded and passed.
At the start of the meeting the committee also approved the May meeting minutes by motion (Rick moved; Mike seconded). No further conditions or follow-up obligations were attached to these approvals in the meeting record.
