The Village of Jackson Board of Public Works voted May 27 to approve pay request No. 1 for the Ridgeway Drive and Chestnut Court reconstruction project in the amount of $299,636.65.
The payment was moved by Engelhardt and seconded by Kripke; the board approved the motion by voice vote. No detailed roll-call was recorded on the public transcript.
The board discussed recent scope adjustments. Jack, the village’s Director of Public Works, said the project team “made a scope of work change to include pipe bursting for the sanitary laterals rather than open cutting,” and also altered the storm-sewer catch-basin inlet sizes “to make it easier to construct and ultimately get a better job for the village.” Jack said those changes will appear in Change Order No. 1.
A contractor representative told the board the project is running on schedule despite a recent rain delay and that crews planned to make up time by working additional Fridays. Jack said the change from open cut to pipe bursting produced about an even cost change overall and may yield a small savings.
The board recorded no other conditions or contingencies on the payment. No additional budget or financing action was requested at the meeting.
The item passed by voice vote.
