Jessica Warren, Human Resources director, presented staffing requests and executive session notices to the Board of County Commissioners.
Warren asked permission to post and begin recruiting early for an ERP analyst position in the IT department so an incoming hire could overlap with a retiring employee and allow training; the position was budgeted for 2026 but HR sought earlier recruitment to minimize transition risk. She provided the salary grade (grade 535; $64.98 to $82.47 per hour range reported) and said the position would be a temporary overlap and not refilled after the incumbent retires.
Warren also requested a temporary 5% pay increase effective Nov. 1 for a current deputy director in Public Services who has assumed additional responsibilities; commissioners approved the temporary increase at the workshop.
Finally, Warren announced two executive sessions to follow the workshop: one regarding the performance of a public employee and one regarding collective bargaining. She estimated approximately 10 minutes for the sessions. The board entered executive session and later reported no decisions rendered in open session.
Commissioners approved the early recruitment and the temporary 5% pay increase actions during the workshop; the executive sessions were held as noticed.
