Wagoner County approves $900,000 opioid-abatement grant application covering three-year cycle

Wagoner County commissioners on Monday approved submission of the county’s 2025 opioid abatement grant application and adopted resolution 2025-077 to support the filing.
Gabrielle Perry, county grant administrator, told the board the Attorney General’s program now awards opioid settlement funds in a three-year cycle. Because Wagoner County is in the highest population tier for the program, the county’s award eligibility would be $300,000 per year, for a total of $900,000 over three years if awarded.
Perry said the application’s implementation plan and budget — provided as attachments to the resolution — show specific intended uses by departments. Eligible uses listed by Perry included drug testing, memoranda of understanding for partner services (approved by the board), housing and recovery supports, and mileage for compliance officers tied to drug court. An administrative fee of 5% of the grant total was included for county grant administration services.
Commissioner James moved to approve the resolution and submit the application; Commissioner Randy seconded. Roll call recorded Commissioner Manning and Commissioner Stamps voting “Aye.” The board authorized the application and directed staff to include the required resolution paperwork in the submission.
