Planning staff told commissioners most items the commission reviews are already public hearings, so they do not anticipate heavy use of a separate general public‑comment period. Staff proposed a sign‑up form and short time limits similar to the city commission procedure (staff noted the city currently allows two minutes and 30 seconds per speaker who signs up in advance). Staff will return with a draft policy for the commission to consider in the next meeting.
Commissioners were invited to provide feedback on time limits, sign‑up procedures and any exceptions the commission might want to consider. No formal action was taken; this was an informational discussion item.
