Staff reported meetings with the California Society for Respiratory Care (CSRC) and with CAMPS (California Association for Medical Product Suppliers or a similarly named stakeholder group) and said CSRC has been responsive while CAMPS raised concerns about aspects that might require statutory change.
The language remains conceptual; staff asked for board feedback and committed to hosting a dedicated stakeholder meeting so interested parties could provide detailed input. One public commenter thanked the board for the collaborative process and urged curriculum development to build LVN confidence for expanded roles. Staff said they will continue outreach and that any changes that exceed current statutory authority would require legislative amendments.
Board members characterized the process as thoughtful and deliberative and instructed staff to continue stakeholder engagement before any formal regulatory filing.
