The administration cited an appraisal dated May 9, 2025, valuing the parcel at $42,500; the purchase is described as necessary to complete the Kindler and Paul Frederick roadway and drainage improvements. The ordinance opened for public hearing; no members of the public testified and the council voted to approve the purchase.
The council also approved an ordinance authorizing purchase from HX3 LLC of a portion of Lot B-41, Boutique Estates Subdivision (municipal address 150 Boutique Estates Drive) to facilitate drainage around the Boutique pump station. The appraised price presented to the council was $5,225. That item likewise opened for public hearing, drew no public comment and passed unanimously.
Administration staff said additional small acquisitions may come forward: Councilwoman Wilson asked whether more property purchases are expected for the broader drainage project, and staff responded that one additional small parcel (introduced that night) will likely be purchased because taking a servitude would effectively eliminate that property; the remaining rights needed for the overall project will be obtained by servitude filings and thus will not require council purchase approvals.
Both ordinances were presented by parish administration staff at public hearing and were approved without amendment. The council did not record detailed roll-call vote tallies in the transcript; the clerk announced each motion passed unanimously.
