The Sawyer County child support office reported that a long-running renovation of its former law library space is complete and staff have moved into the new space.
The presenter thanked IT and maintenance staff for technical and carpentry support during the project and said the new offices have additional doors, new desks and carpeting. The office said staff are being cautious about decorating because the walls and finishes are new.
Staff also said the department's receptionist retired Feb. 28 and that a replacement, Amy Benson (formerly with a law firm in Eau Claire), was hired in March and began work on June 2. Benson was described as having legal experience, including working with a child support attorney in Eau Claire. The presenter said staff are now “back on the ground running.”
Committee members had no follow-up questions on the report.
