Beaver County proclaims two appreciation weeks for child welfare professionals and service providers

"We couldn't do the work we do with all the families that we serve... because of the dedication of, you know, all of our case workers, you know, all of our staff," Director Dean Knopfer said during the public meeting, thanking staff and provider agencies for serving thousands of children and hundreds of families each year. A commissioner added that the county relies on child welfare workers to identify and respond to suspected abuse.
The commissioners invited providers and staff to remain after the meeting for photos with the proclamations. No formal vote breakdown was announced during the proclamation approval, but a motion to approve the proclamations was made and the commissioners responded "aye."
