She described leading practices including training staff on reporting obligations, creating standard templates, and performing internal audits of report content and processes.
Ramon Alemar described work Deloitte has done for a client with “over 150 recipients,” saying that standardized templates made data collection more efficient and increased data quality for required reports. Presenters recommended linking dashboards to a centralized repository so that performance and expenditure data are consistent across reporting periods.
Presenters also noted common reporting pitfalls: inconsistent data fields across periods, automated exports that include PII, and lack of internal verification steps. They advised creating visual dashboards tied to a central data source, assigning accountable parties for reports, and maintaining version control of templates.
Natalie Floyd said attendees had used Grama and Smartsheet for expense and KPI reporting and recommended building report templates that align with the award’s compliance and performance requirements.
