Wellington committee names Deputy Duane Brown top cop, Andrew Mora top firefighter

Committee members reviewed packet write-ups for several nominees in each category. For top-cop nominees the packet included Detective Michael Barbusio, Deputy Duane Brown, Deputy Matthew Fine and Deputy Davis Malvini. After discussion the committee voted “All in favor,” and the motion to name Deputy Duane Brown as Top Cop passed.
For top-firefighter nominees the packet included Captain Craig Dube, Lieutenant Jason Hathorn and Driver Operator Andrew Mora. Committee members praised the nominations and then voted to name Andrew Mora Top Firefighter; the committee recorded the vote as unanimous.
Staff said the awards ceremony will be scheduled in September, subject to the winners’ availability.
