The Ossipee Board of Selectmen authorized a purchase and replacement of the pump and motor servicing the town’s holding tank on Valley Road at a cost of $18,965, to be paid from the Capital Reserve Fund.
Officials reported losing pressure to the Valley Road holding tank because a pump motor was failing. Staff said the replacement includes a new motor and pump and that the vendor who services town equipment has performed prior work and is expected to provide another 15–20 years of service from the new equipment.
The board voted to authorize the purchase and directed the town operations staff (CJ named in the meeting) to proceed with contract/payment. Members discussed the possibility of rebuilding an existing motor as a spare but agreed the emergency replacement and purchase of a new unit was needed to maintain operations and to avoid overloading the remaining pump in the two‑pump configuration.
The board recorded the motion, second and approval; the expenditure will be charged to the CRF and staff will provide documentation of the purchase and completion of the replacement.
