Council members asked clarifying questions about timing and statutory minimums; Christie said LES requires a 10-day period between the public hearing and the vote to adopt rate schedules and that the proposed timeline accounts for the Juneteenth holiday and required notice periods.
No final vote on LES budget or rates was taken at the June 2 meeting; staff indicated the next public hearing and readings will be scheduled for the June 9 meeting and the adoption vote would occur at a later meeting in June.
