Votes at a glance: council approves consent agenda, liquor licenses and appointments 7-0

The Lincoln City Council on June 2 carried a series of routine items by unanimous vote and disposed of the consent agenda and several liquor license applications.

The council approved the consent agenda by roll call, including a resolution levying special taxes assessed for improvements in multiple Business Improvement Districts (introduced by Councilmember Bowers) with a recorded 7-0 vote. The council also approved an appointment withdrawal (Alex Tolleson removed from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board appointment) and a resolution acknowledging Logan Krabenhoft's athletic achievement at the Lincoln Public Schools boys golf championship; the athletic recognition resolution passed by roll call, 7-0.

During the public hearing for liquor resolutions, the council considered applications for multiple retail and manager licenses, including Frosty Mug, Inc. (Harry's Wonder Bar), Blue Collar Brewing Company and a Residence Inn manager application, as well as special designated licenses for outdoor Pride events and related manager applications. Applicants and representatives appeared and spoke; no members of the public registered opposition. The council approved items 4A through 4GS by roll call, 7-0.

On the claims agenda, the council voted on the report of new and pending claims and approved motions to move several individual claims to a later pending status so claimants could appear or provide additional information. The council took separate roll-call actions to remove specified claims from the denied list and move others to pending for future consideration.

The council then concluded the consent and public hearing sections and proceeded to other business on the agenda.
