El Capitan ISD names Prosperity Bank as depository; board thanks bank for scoreboard sponsorship

The El Capitan Independent School Board on May approved Prosperity Bank as the district's depository after staff and an evaluation committee reviewed two proposals.
Board members recognized Stephanie Janssen of Prosperity Bank and publicly thanked the bank for supporting the district scoreboard. “Thank you very much for supporting our scoreboard and being the name that will be adorning the top of the scoreboard,” a board member said to Janssen. Janssen replied, “You're welcome.”
District staff member Demetra told the board the district solicited proposals from local banks, received two responses — Prosperity Bank and First Financial — and evaluated them on rates and fees. “Based on the rate and based on the fees, we deemed Prosperity to be the bank that we would actually choose to continue to do business with,” Demetra said. The evaluation committee included Mr. Freeman, Mr. Wells and a third committee member.
A motion to name Prosperity Bank as the district depository was made and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. The meeting transcript does not include a roll-call vote tally.
