Board approves amendment to accept CDBG funds for Helene household rental assistance

Henry said the new funding package includes $125,000 in CDBG DDRF funds to be used for rental assistance to City of Asheville households at or below 80% of area median income; the county would receive a 10% administrative fee (the program cap). The interlocal agreement between the county and the city provides a cash-advance payment structure: county staff will determine applicant eligibility and invoice the city for approved payments.
Action: the board approved a budget amendment to accept the funds and authorized county management to amend and execute an interlocal agreement with the City of Asheville. Commissioner Whitesides moved the motion; Commissioner Ball seconded and the motion passed.
