Wren Meadows (Case DEV-25-30 & DEV-25-31): The board conditionally approved a three-lot subdivision identified in the staff report as Wren Meadows (Evans Road / 240 Sixth Street). Staff said Lot 3 did not meet the 1:1 depth-to-width ratio and an exception was requested; the Planning Commission recommended approval 9–0. The board approved the plat and exception on a unanimous roll call.
Carolina Wren Estates (Case DEV-25-32 & DEV-25-33): Commissioners approved a two-lot subdivision at 24675 Wolcott Road. Planning staff again noted Lot 2 did not meet the lot-depth-to-width ratio and an exception was requested; the Planning Commission recommended approval 9–0. The board conditionally approved the final plat on unanimous vote.
Bridge replacement — K19 (award to Donlinger & Sons Construction): The board considered bids for replacement of bridge K19 (a 51-foot structure constructed in 1972). Public Works staff reported the engineers’ estimate at about $1.231 million, and that earlier bids exceeded the estimate. After rebidding for a winter construction window, the low bid was Donlinger & Sons Construction at $1,174,999.80. Staff said the project is funded through the county’s special highway fund. The board voted to award the contract to Donlinger & Sons Construction by unanimous roll call.
Consent agenda: The board accepted the consent agenda as presented in a unanimous vote.
Why it matters: These routine land‑use approvals and contract awards affect development patterns and county infrastructure maintenance. The bridge-award saves the county several hundred thousand dollars compared with earlier bids and moves a structurally deficient 1972 bridge toward replacement.
