Board approves HR report; hires director for student climate and belonging and a communications specialist

Board members highlighted two key hires in the packet: Don Mader (listed in the HR report) as director of student climate and belonging, a position the board said was first posted nearly a year ago; and Brian Davis, a current high-school English teacher, who will take a communications specialist role to support district messaging.
Board members welcomed Mader, with one board member saying, “Welcome. It—s been a long time coming, and can—t wait for you to work with us.” Trustees also noted the HR list showed progress on hiring for next school year and that some involuntary transfers in the report were necessary to support a planned grade realignment.
The HR report was approved by roll call vote during the meeting.
