Josephine County commissioners approved Task Order Number 17 with Precision Approach Engineering to provide engineering design, bidding services and construction-phase services for a taxiway extension and a Runway 31/taxiway A extension project at the county airport.
Airport manager Chris Foley described the agreement as the standard FAA-approved delivery format for engineering services; Precision Approach will prepare bid packages, manage the contractor selection process, and provide construction management. Foley said the runway extension bidding is expected to advertise in June, bids due in mid-July and construction beginning in August, subject to FAA approvals and grant funding.
Commissioners noted that the airport operates as an enterprise fund and that project expenses are covered by grants and airport revenue rather than the county general fund. The motion to approve Task Order 17 passed 3-0 on roll-call.
The board asked staff to route final documents for signature and to return any subsequent task orders for review.
