The board considered a proposal to contract with Golden Shovel Agency for marketing services, website support and social media management and chose to table the item pending receipt of the proposed contract.
Gary presented the request, saying the cost would be $27,000 for a one-year engagement — a reduction from the higher amount included in earlier procurement materials. “This is 27,000 being appropriated, hopefully, for Golden Shovel to do marketing services, social media, website, creation, and management and support,” Gary said, and noted he had prior working experience with Golden Shovel.
Trustees expressed concern that the contract had not been attached to the materials they received. Gary acknowledged the agreement was not included in the packet and said staff would circulate it; trustees asked for time to review. A motion to table the item until the next meeting passed on a roll-call vote.
The tabling preserves staff’s stated cost-savings objective, while delaying procurement until trustees can complete diligence on the agreement language.
