Summary
The Beverage Licensing Authority on May 21 approved proposed license boundary settings for two pending applications — a hotel-restaurant application for Cura (Cura Sushi USA Inc.) and an entertainment-type application for Lifetime Fitness — using the same neighborhood boundary polygon north Bluff to Colorado Ave. and Foothills to 20th Street.
The City of Boulder Beverage Licensing Authority on May 21 approved proposed boundary maps for two forthcoming liquor-license applications.
Cura Sushi USA Inc. (DBA Cura Evolving Sushi Bar, 1855 20th St., unit 1152) filed for a hotel-restaurant type liquor license. The licensing clerk recommended boundary lines approximating the service area used previously for BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse. That polygon runs roughly from Bluff Street (extended) on the north to Colorado Avenue on the south and from Foothills Parkway on the east to 20th Street on the west. The board voted to adopt the recommended boundaries.
The authority adopted an identical polygon for LTF Club Operations Company Inc. (DBA Lifetime), which applied for an entertainment-type liquor license at 1821 30th St. The clerk explained the facility will be a full-service athletic club with food and beverage for members and guests and may host occasional outdoor films, live music and community events; the board approved the same boundary set after brief discussion.
Both boundary motions passed unanimously. The clerk told the board that application packets for both businesses had experienced a PDF upload issue earlier in the day and that petition or application materials would be posted to the public record after the meeting.
Ending — Licensing staff will post the full application materials and boundary maps to the public portal and bring the Cura and Lifetime licensing applications to the BLA in upcoming meetings.
