Carson City Airport Authority approves final FY 2025–26 budget

The Carson City Airport Authority approved its final fiscal year 2025–26 budget and authorized staff to transmit the adopted document to the Nevada Tax Commission under NRS 354.598.

The authority’s airport manager told the board that the tentative budget was approved by the board on March 20, 2025, and submitted to the Nevada Department of Taxation on April 15, 2025. Staff said adjustments were made to fiscal-year 2024 actuals to align with audited financials but that there were no changes to the FY 2025–26 budget itself. Manager comments identified the auditor’s retirement this year as a driver of extra work to finalize the packet for state review.

Board discussion was brief. A board member moved to approve the final FY 2025–26 budget and to authorize staff to transmit it to the Nevada Tax Commission; another board member seconded. The board voted in favor; the motion passed.

The board packet included a staff recommendation to adopt the final budget and noted the packet had already been submitted to the Nevada Department of Taxation for review because of the auditor transition. With the approval, staff is authorized to take the next step of formal transmission to the Nevada Tax Commission as required by the statute.

No public speakers addressed the budget during the hearing, and board members did not propose amendments at the meeting. The authority did not state an effective date beyond the usual fiscal-year designation and did not provide additional line-item changes in the public discussion portion of the meeting.
