Dr. Den Freyheit, Public Health and Social Services Director, presented the request, saying it was “a request for approval of a contract with the Housing Authority of Thurston County for the total amount of 950,000 for the rehabilitation of 24 units of affordable rental housing for seniors.” He explained the award came from the Regional Housing Council’s Opportunity Fund, which the advisory board uses for emergent projects that were not included in the most recent RFP.
The board approved a motion authorizing the director of Public Health and Social Services to sign the contract and any amendments that do not exceed 10 percent. Meeting remarks noted the Opportunity Fund balance before and after the award (reported in the meeting as an initial $2,150,000 and, after the award, $1,200,000 available through December 2025, with carryover possible).
The motion passed on a voice vote; the record indicates unanimous approval.
