Town manager reports: tax bills, new water-billing software, Comcast revenue decline and ambulance crash

Town Manager Greg provided a multi-topic operational report to the Plaistow Board of Selectmen.
He said first-half tax bills will be mailed on Friday and are available online. First-quarter water bills will also be mailed this week and the town has purchased new water-billing software; staff are working with the vendor and expect implementation this summer.
Greg told the board the town received a Comcast franchise-fee check for $35,635, but noted this quarter’s check was approximately $5,000–$6,000 less than last year; he said if the trend continues the town could lose roughly $25,000–$30,000 in annual revenue compared with the prior year and asked the board to note the revenue risk for budgeting.
Greg reported that an ambulance from the town was in an accident in the afternoon; all employees and the patient were checked and reported to be OK. The ambulance suffered radiator damage and was not drivable; the town borrowed an ambulance from neighboring towns and filed an insurance claim with PrimeX.
He also said the ALS program that the town shepherded from Exeter Hospital will be recognized by the Governor and Council this week with a proclamation. Finally, Greg alerted the board that the State Department of Information Technology has an initiative to assess municipal websites for ADA compliance and that towns will have until about April 24, 2027 to become compliant; he and Beth will contact DOIT about the assessment.
