At a Feb. 18 Joint Finance‑Appropriations Committee hearing, the Idaho State Tax Commission outlined FY‑2026 requests that include vehicle replacements, IT and security investments, and ongoing contract and maintenance costs for the agency’s FAST tax management software.
Jeff McCray, chairman of the Idaho State Tax Commission, told the committee the FAST implementation exceeded its projected return on investment. “Since that time we've collected $34,287,416 so far exceeded the ROI,” McCray said, and the agency reverted $309,948 to the general fund at the close of FY2024.
