Company rep asks to be kept informed on draft wind ordinance; announces community grant window

Jared Hersberger, representing Dusty Fox Wind, addressed the Wapello County Board of Supervisors on May 20 and asked to be notified about upcoming joint meetings on a draft wind-energy ordinance. He also announced the company’s community grant application window opening in June.
“We have our community grant. The, that will be up. This quarter will be up at the June. So if you guys know of any nonprofits that are looking for a little funding, feel free to, get them my way or to the website. The application can be found at, ww.dustyfoxwind.com,” Hersberger said.
Hersberger asked whether the board or staff expected a vote on the draft ordinance soon after a recent work session. County staff and supervisors said a work session had taken place and that future meetings would be posted; the board did not take a formal action on the ordinance at the meeting.
Hersberger said Dusty Fox Wind wanted to attend public meetings to answer questions. A supervisor replied that public meetings would be posted on the county website.
No vote was taken on the draft ordinance during the meeting; the company representative asked to be notified of the meetings and encouraged public posting of meeting notices.
