Council accepts $5,000 supplemental award for summer wildfire staffing (Resolution 3364)

The North Bend City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 3364 on May 27 to recognize $5,000 in additional grant revenue from the Office of the State Fire Marshal and authorize a corresponding $5,000 increase in the Fire Department’s materials and services budget for the current fiscal year.
The fire chief said the city received a $35,000 grant for wildland staffing for the June 1–Oct. 31 seasonal period and that, to begin funding on June 1 rather than July 1, staff requested adding $5,000 into the current budget. The chief described the award as the same recurring grant the department has received in prior years.
Councilors had no substantive questions and voted to adopt the resolution. The council recorded the vote as “all in favor; motion carried.”
