The Health and Hospital Corporation’s internal audit committee gave its inaugural update to the board after reestablishment of the internal audit function by Resolution 3-2024.
James Simpson reported the internal audit committee met earlier in the day and that Kodiak, the third-party vendor retained to help rebuild internal audit, presented the current state assessment and a high-level two-year timeline. Kodiak representatives described phases of the engagement — collaboration, building and activation — and demonstrated the Autovate software tool they will implement to support audit operations.
Kodiak’s team members (named in the committee presentation as Matt Davis and Latanya Wilson) reviewed operational and administrative expectations for both Kodiak and HHC leadership and indicated the next committee meeting is expected in July. The board was informed this is the first internal audit function since the early 2000s and that progress is expected over the coming months.
