Indianapolis EMS reports heavy event coverage, celebrates staff and sets groundbreaking for new headquarters on July 24

Indianapolis EMS (IMS) presented activity and staffing updates to the Health and Hospital Corporation board, highlighted National EMS Week events and announced a July 24 groundbreaking for the new IMS headquarters.
IMS leadership reported year-to-date figures (as of May 14): 553,433 incidents and 43,383 transports, nearly 830,000 miles driven and coverage of 217 special events year to date. IMS employs 439 full- and part-time staff, the presenter said.
IMS staff described planned coverage for an intensive events period including the mini-marathon, multiple Pacers playoff games and the Indianapolis 500 weekend. The presenter invited board members to the headquarters groundbreaking on July 24 and noted staff will extend formal invitations.
IMS also recognized Andrew Bowes, who was named to the Indiana EMS Association’s 2025 class of Golden Sirens in recognition of more than 25 years of service; IMS said Bowes has been with the local ambulance service for 47 years and oversees special-event coverage.
